Midwest Engineering Associates, Inc. was contracted by the City of East Peoria for a project that consisted of a Phase I Design Study that included an ECAD, and Project Development Report based on a Group II Categorical Exclusion. Alternatives considered during design, included: modifications to the existing signalized intersection, and bridge widening typical sections. The project also included Phase II Design, and Phase III Construction Engineering Services. The improvements consisted of widening an existing bridge by utilizing the abutments from an abandoned railroad bridge, and the widening of the existing approaches from two to five lanes. The improvements also included the removal of special waste materials.
